Christmas Shopping in Ottawa

I went Christmas present shopping in Ottawa yesterday. Yes, I know that seems strange but there’s a small story behind it. My other half’s sister lives near Ottawa, so she bought Christmas presents for her sister and her nieces before I flew over, so that I could hand deliver them. When I got back to my hotel from work last Monday, they’d disappeared. There was no sign of a break-in and nothing else missing so I started to question my own sanity and memory and wondered if I might have put them somewhere for safe keeping and forgotten where 😉 After hunting high and low and asking at reception, it became certain that someone had pinched them although whoever it was was probably disappointed when they unwrapped them.

The locals have all been pretty stunned and sympathetic.

Yesterday I decided I would go out to buy some replacements and have a little walk round Ottawa centre. I’d been reliably informed that it’s a nice play to stroll around with some pretty old buildings and I wasn’t disappointed. It looks like my new phone takes a half-decent picture as well. Certainly good enough for blogging purposes.

I’d certainly recommend a walk along Wellington Street, where all of these pictures were taken.

That one is the Canadian Parliament.

The present shopping was successful and the brisk walk did me good. What a shame it was back to my presentation (and some more sport on TV) today 🙁

P.S. I stopped in at the office on the way home from the shops, so that this set of presents are in a more secure location!
