Free Hotsos Materials Link Here!

Sorry to disappoint you, but there isn’t one.

Having received two emails in 24 hours asking me for copies of presentations, I thought I should make my position clear here. If anyone wants a copy of my Hotsos presentations or papers, you only have to ask and I’ll be happy to supply them – the more the merrier.

If, however, you’re expecting me to send you a copy of other people’s hard work that still other people paid to receive, that won’t be happening. I know my views might be a little old-fashioned here and almost anti-education, but there were several hundred people who paid a conference registration fee and took time off work that entitled them to a copy of the presentations and papers. Whether they are more widely distributed would seem to me to be the decision of

1) The Author; and (probably)
2) Hotsos

So can I suggest that you email the author of the presentation directly because I wouldn’t dream of sending out copies of other people’s work. Call me old-fashioned, but ….

  1. Well, once I’ve read my hard copy, I might be open to offers 😉

Then again, the shipping alone would be extravagant!

  2. Hey Doug,

I didn’t even present and have been getting emails for the Hotsos materials.

Hotsos should make them available for a fee to non-attendees. Then everyone would be happy. Right? 😉

“I totally agree, Doug (BTW, loved your presentation). I made my stuff available on my blog, but others? That’s up to them.”

Thanks Dominic – glad you enjoyed it. Your new blog looks great (in every sense) and I’ll add a link later. The link to your paper doesn’t seem to be working for me though.

Agreed. Maybe they are available, but I would hope people would have emailed Hotsos to ask that question before emailing everyone else, right?

Maybe not. I’ll see what I can find out.
