I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s event<\/a>. As well as seeing my colleague, Simon Kelsey<\/a>, present for the first time (after I talked him into it), I’ll get to catch up with some of the usual suspects and I won’t have to go through any airports to get there 😉 It’s a top line-up and a very<\/span> interesting looking venue<\/a>, which is a testament to the great work that people like Thomas Presslie, Peter Robson and Lavinia Foster put into the organisation and also to the commitment of the presenters. They don’t need<\/span> to come to Scotland and I don’t think they gain out of it commercially, so they are always more than welcome.<\/p>\n

I only noticed\/remembered the other day that I have a 60 minute slot for the How Many Slaves presentation this time, so I might be able to relax a bit and now I need to go and see if there are some more slides I should include!<\/p>\n

No doubt there’ll be an update here after the event, although I may need to draw a discrete veil over any post-event social activities, otherwise people are going to start refusing to go for a drink with me!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
