This was about personality types and communications skills which is a subject I’m always interested in and I thought she was a very engaging speaker. I couldn’t work out which personality type I was though, because I would have said I was very similar to two of them, and had aspects of the other two. Perhaps it’s time for a Psychiatric Assessment 😉

Next was Jonathan Lewis on V$ and X$ views. I could listen to Jonathan talk all day and his material was of the usual high standard. He revisited a subject he’s often worked on in the past – the inefficiencies of some of the supplied V$ views and the opportunity to produce better ones in some circumstances (my italics – I could see that one being abused like crazy). There was a ton of stuff and the only downer was that some automatic audio system kicked in in the hotel and played very loud, bizarre muzak after a few minutes of his presentation! You couldn’t hear a word he was saying. He tried to dance, but came to his senses I think. Nice line about ‘No Sax Please, We’re British’ but I think it was lost in the music.

Finally it was the usual stuff and nonsense from Moans Nogood with a couple of interesting thoughts tucked away in there. Then he used James Morle to help him conduct a survey of big flashing warning signs that you’ve seen at various sites. It was great fun and went on for some time!

Then we adjourned to the bar for a few drinks and, just when it was my round, everyone wanted to go for dinner! I adjourned to my room, exhausted as usual

In the afternoon yesterday there was a schedule change and so I attended Karen Morton’s ‘When the Truth is not Persuasive’.
