Just in case you miss it … Jonathan has an interesting new piece on sort efficiency in 10gR2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What struck me on reading this is that, no matter how mature the CBO may be, small improvements are constant. That tells me that it’s a mistake to rely on an optimiser to do everything well and also that optimisation is a complex topic.<\/p>\n
