Rob Vollman blogged about the Thomas Kyte Effect<\/a>. Pete has<\/a> (and no doubt others have) before. Well, I have to say I’m a little disappointed and I’m thinking of writing to Tom and asking for a refund (and perhaps he can make Metalink run faster while he’s at it). I noticed a link to my blog (which I appreciate) when I visited Tom’s re-designed site at the weekend. I expected a deluge of additional traffic but …. nothing.<\/p>\n

My guess is that I’m fairly well established in the Oracle blogging community now (i.e. I’ve been doing it for more than 6 weeks); Orablogs is already a great source of traffic and the people who visit Tom’s blog already visit a number of other Oracle blogs anyway.<\/p>\n

Now, if you were to be linked from the main asktom.oracle.com page, I’m sure that would be a different barrel of monkeys! (I have no idea what that last phrase means, but it sounds good to me at the moment)<\/p>\n

In fairness, a friend of a friend of a friend emailed me today to say – ‘hey, you must be really important, there’s a link to your blog on Tom Kyte’s blog!’ There’s not much you can say to that, but I’m sure I’ll rustle up a few words in the near future …<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
