Well, I have to say I&#8217;m a little disappointed and I&#8217;m thinking of writing to Tom and asking for a refund (and perhaps he can make Metalink run faster while he&#8217;s at it). I noticed a link to my blog (which I appreciate) when I visited Tom&#8217;s re-designed site at the weekend. I expected a deluge of additional traffic but &#8230;. nothing.<\/p>\n<p>My guess is that I&#8217;m fairly well established in the Oracle blogging community now (i.e. I&#8217;ve been doing it for more than 6 weeks); Orablogs is already a great source of traffic and the people who visit Tom&#8217;s blog already visit a number of other Oracle blogs anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Now, if you were to be linked from the main asktom.oracle.com page, I&#8217;m sure that would be a different barrel of monkeys! (I have no idea what that last phrase means, but it sounds good to me at the moment)<\/p>\n<p>In fairness, a friend of a friend of a friend emailed me today to say &#8211; &#8216;hey, you must be really important, there&#8217;s a link to your blog on Tom Kyte&#8217;s blog!&#8217; There&#8217;s not much you can say to that, but I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;ll rustle up a few words in the near future &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rob Vollman blogged about the Thomas Kyte Effect.
