I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s event. As well as seeing my colleague, Simon Kelsey, present for the first time (after I talked him into it), I’ll get to catch up with some of the usual suspects and I won’t have to go through any airports to get there 😉 It’s a top line-up and a very interesting looking venue, which is a testament to the great work that people like Thomas Presslie, Peter Robson and Lavinia Foster put into the organisation and also to the commitment of the presenters. They don’t need to come to Scotland and I don’t think they gain out of it commercially, so they are always more than welcome.
I only noticed/remembered the other day that I have a 60 minute slot for the How Many Slaves presentation this time, so I might be able to relax a bit and now I need to go and see if there are some more slides I should include!
No doubt there’ll be an update here after the event, although I may need to draw a discrete veil over any post-event social activities, otherwise people are going to start refusing to go for a drink with me!
It does indeed sound like a good day.
I would have liked to be there, however I am on a course all this week in London.
Besides, I don’t think I could cope with another night out with you!!
