Good news from Select (the IOUG magazine). I mentioned a couple of postings go that they�d printed an incorrect version of the PX article. Jonathan Lewis suggested that I should contact them to make sure a correction was printed. Although the next issue is already in layout (only just after I received the current issue) they�re going to include the following correction.
“Correction: The article “Tuning Parallel Execution” by Doug Burns, published in Q3, 2005 has some incorrect information regarding parallel queries against partitioned tables. The author has updated the article and is available at http://oracledoug.com/px.pdf for the readers.”
I plan to post a detailed list of all the changes that were made, but it�ll take me a little while to put together because many comments came from several sources and some of the changes were subtle.
